Springtime is a time of celebrating the nice weather with friends! I’ve been looking for some more serving dishes since I plan to host lots of get-togethers with my friends this spring. When I saw these plates at Target I knew just what I wanted to do with them. I had seen the candlestick tiered plates before, but I wanted to make my own version with a fancy crystal ball on top! This DIY Tiered Dessert Stand turned out so pretty… I can’t wait to use it!!!
DIY Tiered Dessert Stand Tutorial
2 Melamine Plates (different sizes) mine are from Target-
drawer pull and small screw- ranges in price from
E6000 Glue
Drill
Tape
Directions:
Place Tape over the back and front of the top plate. Then measure the plate and find out where the middle is and put a dot there. Drill a hole through that spot. (now I know what you are thinking… and you can do this!!! OR just get your hubby to help you out on this one like I did… oops- did I just say that???)
Take the tape off… pretty hole ready for the drawer pull.
Put the screw through the back and place a few washers or a nut to fill in the extra space. You will need to either saw the screw down (again grab hubby for this if you are unsure) OR just figure out what size screw would be best and use that.
Now it is time for the candle stick! I had two candlesticks… this one is an old one we have had for a while. Nice and tall…. OR
You can also head over to the Dollar Tree and pick up a small candlestick to use which looks great and is my personal favorite!!! Just glue the candlestick to the plates with the E6000 glue and you are set (of course wait a few hours for the glue to bond!)
I LOVE my new DIY Tiered Dessert Stand and I can just see little strawberries dipped in chocolate on there or maybe some colorful macaroon cookies, mini cupcakes… the skies the limit!!! 🙂
