Royal Wedding Hairpiece

Are you getting up super early to watch the wedding today?  Huh? What Wedding you say?
Prince William and Miss Kate Middleton will be wed today, and what better way to celebrate than to wear a hairpiece inspired by Kate!  Whether or not your into that sort of thing this hairpiece is sure to dazzle!
 Royal Wedding Hairpiece
(inspired by Kate Middleton)

What you will need:
Netting from onion bag or other bag (or just plastic netting)
fray-able fabric cut into 10 4 inch squares
headband or hair-clip
cardboard or card-stock
jewels- optional

cut a circle out of the cardboard or carstock
put some hot glue down on the circle and scrunch up one of the fabric pieces and glue it down.
like so…
Repeat until it covers the whole circle
cut netting to desired length and glue on the back of the cardboard (CAREFULLY… you will need something other than your fingers to press this down!)  Glue the feathers to the back also.  Place jewels on if desired!
So Fanciful!  Perfect with some tea and scones!

Happy Creating!!!

Speaking of scones I found this recipe from Queen Elizabeth II herself!!!

Queen Elizabeth’s Drop Scone 4 teacups flour
4 tablespooons superfine sugar
2 teacups milk
2 whole eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons melted butter
Source: National Archives

Beat eggs, sugar and about half the milk together. Add flour, and mix well. Add the remaining milk as required. Mix in bicarbonate and cream of tartar, fold in the melted butter. Drop onto ungreased baking sheet by the teaspoon full. Bake at 400 degree for 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Yields 16 scones.

Adorable! And thanks for the recipe! Did you stay up to watch? I was in Oregon at my moms so got up at 1:00 and watched until 4:30. Then we drove 8 hours home!! Ha! Still recovering... :)

That is precious! I was just watching the wedding and admiring all those fascinator hats. They are so cute. I really do want to make one, but I know I wouldn't have anywhere to wear it (and neither of my daughters would let me dress them up in it). I might try making a smaller flower headband instead.

So fun! I just bought the last of my supplies to complete a wedding outfit for my daughter to play dress up. I'm posting it soon if I can get it finished! ;)Great minds think alike, right?
