Today is National Chocolate Mousse Day!!! I thought that these Bird’s Nest Mousse Cups were perfect to celebrate the day and to make for an easy Easter dessert! While looking for easy Easter desserts I noticed that chocolate is WAY under represented at Easter (aside from chocolate bunnies). This needs to change ASAP! It’s just not a holiday without chocolate in my opinion.
These look so pretty and will be a great addition to any Easter spread!
- 7 chocolate dessert cups, found mine at Walmart
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp . cocoa powder OR, optional 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips that have been processed through a food processor
- 28 small Chocolate eggs
- Place cocoa powder or cocoa powder/ chocolate chips, heavy cream and sugar into a blender and blend on high until it forms a thick whipped cream. Place this mixture into a piping bag with a large star tip and pipe into chocolate cups. Place 3 chocolate eggs in each cup. Chill or serve immediately. Will last a couple of hours in fridge.
