Tutti Frutti Diaper Cake

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Pampers and Luvs at Sam’s Club. The opinions and text are all mine.

This is a sponsored post.  All opinions are my own.

I think diaper cakes are so fun to make and enjoy for a baby shower.  They always become the centerpiece of conversation and a way to express a little creativity.  I keep seeing fruit themed parties everywhere and I thought a Tutti Frutti themed baby shower would be such a cute idea!

This Tutti Frutti diaper cake would be perfect with that theme or even just to bring to a shower.  I love the pineapple top with pineapple, orange and watermelon layers!  It’s super simple to make even though it looks like it took many hours.

I almost called this diaper cake “tootie fruity”, get it?   I thought it was a funny play on words, but I didn’t go there.  This diaper cake was made with Pampers Swaddlers, a plastic tray, and card stock scrapbook paper that I drew on.  I thought this one would be the cutest for a girl and for a boy theme you could change the watermelon into limes instead!

I recently stocked up on diapers at Sam’s Club and one box of the Pampers Swaddlers was enough to make this diaper cake.  I love that they have the big packages so that I don’t need to run to the store every week.  It takes several weeks to go through a box.  Right now there is a HOT deal going on:

      • Shop at Sam’s Club or samsclub.com before August 22 and get an instant savings of $10 AND free shipping or Club Pickup (where available) when you buy two Pampers or Luvs products, or save $18 when you buy three.
      • Savings will be automatically calculated when you check out at the register in-club, with the Scan & Go app or on samsclub.com.

We picked up both Pampers and Luvs for some really great savings!

All of my babies have loved the Pampers Swaddlers.  It’s the diapers I always get if I am gifting them to someone for a baby shower.  Pampers Swaddlers are Pampers’ softest diaper and offer up to 12 hours of overnight protection.  I also really like the Pampers Sensitive Baby wipes.  They are such a great wipe because the Softgrip texture is perfect for baby’s skin and is perfume-free and hypoallergenic.

The best thing about buying them at Sam’s Club now is all the convenience services they have now!

To make the Tutti Frutti diaper cake you will need:

scrapbook paper in pink, yellow. green and orange

1 empty paper towel roll

markers in black, orange and pink

invisible (matte) tape

at least 59 diapers that are rolled and topped with a rubber band to hold it each diaper in rolled position

rubber bands (enough for each diaper)

string (any that is easy to tie)

hot glue or super glue

14 inch plastic party platter (or cake round)

First, glue the paper towel roll to the platter at the bottom.  This will be what holds the diaper cake together.

Next, circle a layer of diapers around the base of the cake.  Take a piece of string and tie them together in place.  Then add two more layers around the bottom.  You’ll tie each layer with a piece of string as you go.  The bottom cake has 3 layers, the middle has two and the top has 1.  This adds up to around 59 diapers.  Note: Take the rubber bands off after you tie each layer.

I used scrapbook paper that I cut and taped together into one long piece that would fit around each cake.  The bottom was watermelon which was pink with added seeds.  The middle is orange with added orange slices drawn on.  Then the top was a yellow layer for pineapple which I used a pink marker to make diagonal lines.

At the very top I added a pineapple leaves.  Just cut out layers of leaves of different sizes and wrap them around each other and tape them all together.  Then separate them slowly and curl the ends to look like a pineapple!

I was so excited to see how this Tutti Frutti Diaper Cake turned out!  It was even cuter than I imagined.  Do you have a baby shower for you or someone else coming up?  Be sure to shop at Sam’s Club for the great deal they are having right now!
