This list of Things to Pack for Active Kids is a sponsored post written on behalf of Smucker’s and the Mom It Forward Blogger Network. All opinions are my own!
Wednesdays are big days for my kids. All three of my daughters are taking dance lessons and their practices are all on Wednesday. Every week we load up the van with all of us in it and head to their studio for 2 hours. I’ve learned that there are several things that they will be asking me for every week and so I have made a point to keep a bag packed and ready to go for when we are there. I also have a younger son that stays with me the whole time and I make sure to pack his bag with things from this list by Samantha Rodman on Babble “What’s in your backpack”- toddler edition.
So what is in our bag?
Water – of course active kids need hydration! A reusable bottle is best for this.
Snacks – Active kids can work up an active appetite. I’ve learned that after activities they are in need of a snack. We love simple snacks that are easy to pack like the Smucker’s Uncrustables PB&J Sandwiches. The handheld PB&J sandwiches combine the delicious taste of a homemade sandwich with on-the-go ease.
Travel Games/ Books – There is an hour between lessons where at least one kid is waiting on the others. I like to keep their minds active and it helps with boredom too. If they read books during their time I like to keep a record of it with this fun Disney reading chart.
Coloring Books/ crayons /pen/ paper – My kids love to draw and color. The older ones love to write too and so I like to keep these items handy for them. These craft and activity ideas from Disney and Uncrustables are one more way to keep your family unstoppable: Check out this Pencil Topper Craft Idea.
Hair Accessories/ Brush – I’ve learned that no matter how hard we work on fixing their hair before they go it will always need a good brushing afterwards. Sometimes the hair bands break too and so we need extras just in case.
First Aid – I like to keep a few bandages and other first aid items in our bag. You never know when you’ll need them… especially with active kids!
My kids love it when I have our bag packed with everything we need and it makes my life a lot easier too! It also makes them feel special and cared for.
The Uncrustables sandwiches are usually one of the first things that they grab out of the bag! Uncrustables sandwiches are ready to go wherever the day takes you—so your family can stay unstoppable. Just thaw, unwrap, and enjoy! Once they have a drink of water or one of the Smucker’s Uncrustables they are ready to go be active some more!
Uncrustables has teamed up with Disney to give families everything they need to be unstoppable this school year. Through the Disney Uncrustables partnership, parents across the country have shared tips for their on-the-go lifestyles. Today’s blog was inspired by this post by Samantha Rodman from Babble on “What’s in Your Backpack” that inspired the post.
