In my dream world, when 6pm rolls around, I will have dinner already finished. Luckily on Manwich Monday that dream is a reality. Manwich Monday is a great way to kick-off the week with a tasty, easy-to-make, family meal around the dinner table. This past Monday I made a delicious shredded beef in the crockpot using the Thick and Chunky Manwich sauce. It was simple to make and tasted amazing. I decided to use the beef and other toppings to make a Sweet and Tangy Shredded Beef Flatbread Pizza. It was a big hit with the family and I can’t wait to make it again.
The Thick and Chunky Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce was perfect for the slow cooker meat. They also have Manwich Original and Manwich Bold. These sauces have no meat and make a great sauce for many things, but especially Sloppy Joes, sandwiches and pastas.
The resulting meat was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned with the Manwich sauce. I love how the tangy sauce mingled with the savory beef. We like to eat the beef on it’s own this way as well as on flatbread pizzas.
Since the meat cooks all day I can come home and finish dinner in as little as 10 minutes. I buy my flatbreads pre-made. The kind I buy is actually Naan bread, but you can use any kind of flatbread or pita. If your kids don’t care for cilantro or onions you can leave those off and it’s just as good!
Sweet and Tangy Shredded Beef Flatbread Pizza
- 1 can Manwich Thick and Chunky Sloppy Joe Sauce
- 1 pound of rump roast or chuck roast or stew meat
- for pizza:
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
- a few leaves of cilantro
- 6 thin red onion slices
- 3 large pita breads or 2 large Naan breads or other pre-made flatbread
- Slow cook meat and Manwich sauce at low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 4 to 6 hours. Once you are ready to use the meat shred it and stir the meat and sauce together.
- For the pizzas:
- Preheat oven to broil or 500 degrees. Top the flatbreads with the meat and sauce first. Then add cheddar cheese and onions. Bake or broil for 5 to 10 minutes. Take out when the cheese is bubbly and crust is beginning to brown. Add cilantro then slice and serve.
This pizza was so delicious and it was a big hit with the whole family! The Kid-Stopping Power of Manwich makes meals a messy-licious treat to be enjoyed with both hands – giving moms and dads an easy, quality ingredient to bring the family’s attention back to mealtime and away from everyday distractions. I always want my kids’ full attention at dinnertime without texting or playing video games . That’s why Manwich is a great option because they have to use both hands to eat!
Of course it wouldn’t be Manwich Monday without a messy face! We welcome messy faces around here… as long as the one with the messy face is enjoying the food!
