Pretty Striped Pencils Tutorial

Have you seen those cute striped straws that everyone has been using lately?  I really love the stripes on those straws, but I never could find any pencils that had striped like that… SO of course I made my own!  They are SO cute and SO easy to make!!! You can whip these up in about an hour.

What you will need:

Colored Pencils

white 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper

glue- I used Elmer’s extra strength glue sticks and Elmer’s School glue

Let’s get started!

Cut your paper lengthwise in to 1/4 inch strips.   Next start gluing the back of the paper and then wrap it around the pencil leaving a space for the stripe.

Once that has dried (which won’t be very long)  make a solution of equal parts water and glue… lightly brush this onto the pencils.  Then let dry.  I let mine dry on a bowl so they wouldn’t touch anything!

Believe it or not… once they are dry that’s it!  You now have some beautiful striped pencils waiting for you to write down all your other crafty thoughts!!!
