My girls are big into princesses and they love to dress up in their princess costumes! I decided we should have a Princess Picnic before the summer was over! It was mainly to have fun, but I also used it teach them about healthy food choices. I felt that a picnic setting was the perfect way to reinforce healthy eating habits in a relaxed atmosphere. I had the girls eat with their play tea set which even includes little forks and spoons! The healthy food choices included Vita (pronounced = /ˈvītä/) Coco Kids Coconut Water to drink and fruit salad to eat! Coconut water is a new favorite healthy drink of mine and I was excited to have my girls try the Vita Coco Kids coconut water!
I told the girls that princesses love healthy foods. We focused on why the foods we had were healthy choices. They learned that the fruit salad and Vita Coco Kids Coconut Water are healthy because they provide us energy and vitamins!
The girls loved the Vita Coco Kids Drinks. We tried 3 yummy flavors which included Apple Island, Very Cherry Beach, and Paradise Punch! My girls picked the flavor they wanted to try based on the cute characters on the front of the package!
I taught the girls that it was important to stay hydrated and that drinks like Vita Coco Kids contain electrolytes which is great for hydration. Other healthy benefits are that they are made with Coconut Water and have no artificial colors, sweeteners, flavors or preservatives. Unlike other kid juices the Vita Coco Kids have ingredients we can pronounce! Vita Coco Kids Drinks are also low in sugar, low in calories and contain natural electrolytes! Target handpicked Vita Coco Kids for their “Made to Matter“ program which is a great place to learn about the best natural, organic and sustainable products! The best part is that they taste great! I even enjoyed drinking them too!
We also talked about the benefits of fruits at our picnic. The fruit salad we made included a variety of fruits that I plated together. Apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries and watermelon. My girls had fun eating the fruit salad with the tiny fork and spoon which helps teach them to take small bites! Later on they even poured a little Vita Coco Kids Coconut Water into their tea cups too!
Our Princess Picnic was a success! My girls learned so much about healthy food and drinks. Be sure to check out the Vita Coco Kids drinks for yourself. They are a great drink to have at home and on the go! Pack it in a lunch box or have it at a picnic… either way you can’t go wrong with this healthy choice! Also be sure to check out the Vita Coco Kids Family Hits on Pandora Radio in August and September! We have loved listening to them at home and in the car!
