The weather has been so perfect lately which has been a much needed break from the squelching hot days of summer. It’s this time of year that we love to go eat outdoors and go on picnics. One thing that is hard about planning picnics is that we usually think of them right when we are hungry. I like to have at least a table cloth to put on the benches and so I knew that I needed a little picnic kit to have handy in the car. We have a large family with a wide age range so my picnic list may be a little longer than most, but this list will give you a good idea of things to include in a kit.
Picnic Kit List
- Plates (We use disposable)
- Cups- these are handy for more than just drinking. Use them to hold dips or have the kids collect rocks at the park etc.
- Table Cloth (I prefer plastic so I can dispose it instead of wash it)
- Spoons, forks, knives
- Napkins
- Wet Wipes for cleaning up and extra messy kids
- Table Cloth weights for windy days
Now that we have the kit in place the only thing left to do is figure out what to eat! If I have the time I will make us something at home to bring to the park, but on busier days we can still have a picnic with food bought at a restaurant. One of our new favorite places to eat is Zoës Kitchen. We decided to try their new kids meal options with the kids and they loved them! It was the perfect food to bring to a picnic at the park. The new Zoës kids menu offers more choices and adventure for the more sophisticated palates of my little ones.
I feel like a great mom when I feed my kids with ingredients I trust and flavors they love. Zoës offers the quality of a fresh, home cooked meal, with the convenience of fast casual.
My kids thought the shrimp kabobs from the kids menu was delicious!
My husband and I also loved the regular menu items like the salmon kabobs. Everything was cooked so well and tasted so fresh. Our picnic was a big hit with the family and I am glad I made this picnic kit so we can enjoy a picnic anytime! Be sure to follow Zoës Kitchen Facebook page and check out the Zoës Kitchen menu.
