I love getting together with friends and family for outdoor gatherings in the summertime. Most of the time we beat the heat by having parties at the pool or by the lake. Another way to beat the heat is by having parties in the evening. This is one of my favorite party ideas because the lights make it such a beautiful and relaxing experience! For this party I used items I had around the house like Christmas lights and throw pillows to make it a fun and cozy evening under the stars. The food included easy to make appetizers with Kraft dips and other party snacks for everyone to enjoy.
One of the fun things we do at outdoor parties is lounge on the ground while we eat. I also place chairs around in case anyone doesn’t want to get on the ground. This helps if you have a larger gathering and don’t have enough chairs to go around.
I keep the appetizers simple so that I can focus more on the party guests. These Kraft dips are always a party hit and I love all the flavors they have.
I also love using Kraft dips in recipes like these easy 4 Ingredient Cream Cheese Wontons. The Kraft Green Onion Dip added just enough seasoning to make these wontons taste great.
Outdoor Summer Evening Party Recipe

The Kraft Green Onion Dip filling I used in the wontons can also be used on other appetizers like these Easy California Sushi Rolls. I love how the added cream cheese filling made these rolls taste. It also made it easier for me to roll these up. You can serve these with or without a soy sauce dipping sauce because they are tasty on their own!
I also made Vanilla Almond Cupcakes with Fortune Cookie Toppers. I made the cupcakes by using a white cake mix and mixed in 2 tsp. of almond extract as I was mixing it. After they baked and cooled down I used a regular can of icing which I poured in 2 tsp. of almond extract into. They tasted amazing and the fortune cookie toppers were a big hit! Just dip the fortune cookies into some chocolate and add sprinkles before the chocolate sets. Then place on top of the cupcakes. So easy and beautiful.
For the party decor I used lots of lights! These Christmas type lights gave a nice warm hue in the backyard. I also had some lantern lights we placed on the fence and other mini Christmas lights strung around the table and onto the bamboo/ lantern decor. To make the bamboo lantern decor I used several bamboo sticks placed in a pot with dirt. Next I added paper lanterns that I tied in different spot on the bamboo. Very simple to make and looks great with the other decor!
For the table decor I used pretty flower arrangements and a fabric table runner that I made quickly with 2 yards of fabric that I just folded up… no sewing required! I also covered the ends of some chopsticks with washi tape for a fun party look.
Kraft Dips are key to having great snacks for entertaining occasions and I love how versatile they are when using them as an ingredient! I found all my Kraft Dips at Walmart and noticed the new look on the package! I love the bright colors and the new design really caught my eye. Be sure to find them the next time you are there too.
