Mocha Truffles

Mocha Truffles

These Mocha Truffles are amazing!  I made them over the Christmas break and gave them to family and friends.  You can roll these in just about anything you think of.  I rolled mine in cocoa powder, hazelnuts and almonds.  They are a perfect treat to enjoy anytime or to give away for a special occasion.  They are perfect as a Valentine’s gift… just place them in mini cupcake liners and then into a box!  So sweet!

I love how easy these are to make and that they taste better than the store bought versions!

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces semi chocolate or bittersweet chocolate, or chocolate chips, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Hershey's Spread
  • 1 package of Nescafe Taster's Choice Single Serve Coffee packet dissolved in 1 Tbsp. of hot water.
  • Cocoa Powder or chopped nuts to roll the truffles in.

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler over barely simmering water, melt chocolate, butter, heavy cream, Hershey's spread and Taster's Choice. Heat until chocolate is melted. Stir until everything is melted together.
  2. Pour mixture into a glass dish like Pyrex and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 hours. If mixture gets too hard to work with after taking out of the refrigerator then let it sit for 10 minutes before trying to work with it.
  3. Scoop out mixture with a small spoon make 1 inch balls with hands. Your hands will be very messy so keep a hand towel or paper towel handy. Roll each ball in either cocoa powder or nuts and place on a piece of parchment paper. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes around 20 1 inch balls.
