My kids love to read books or have them read to them. This is something that we instilled in them early on and I am so glad that they have a love for it. Since they love to read I thought would be easy to teach them how to write a story of their own. All three of my girls have a hard time coming up with stories of their own with traditional thought starters. I knew I had to come up with some alternative ways to help them find their creative writing skills. I found out the best way to help them learn this skill is to let them pretend play. They come up with a story based on the toys they love to play with and then I have them write their stories down on paper.
