Dreamsicle Soap

This dreamsicle soap smells so good and I love how it lathers!  The little sugar added on top makes a nice exfoliant too.

I can’t believe I made my own soap.  Real soap with nothing but natural ingredients… well except the lye which is natural I guess, but kinda caustic on it’s own!  I won’t say that the process is easy because it does take some precision and knowledge of ingredients, but it’s not as scary to make cold processed soap as I thought it was.

Dreamsicle Soap

I can’t wait to try out this soap in the shower.  I’ve been spending a lot on store bought natural soaps because I have extremely sensitive skin that can only handle natural soaps.  So I will save a lot of money by making them myself.  Mmm.  This dreamsicle soap is a creamy orange dream (with sugar on top)!  If you aren’t familiar with dreamsicles then just think vanilla and orange.  Those are the two flavors in a dreamsicle.  Dreamsicle Soap Made with pure essential oil of orange and coconut milk.  It’s really not bad for my 2nd try at it.  I used food dye to color it which there are also natural dyes that I want to try sometime.  Some tips I have for moving forward is to use an upright block soap mold.  I just used what I had and it made really thin bars which are nice, but I like the thicker ones better.  It can only go up from here!

See my previous post on Soap Making 101!

This article has so much info in it even though the photos are not too great.  It will get you started with soap making!  Just be patient because your soap will take a while to cure before you can use it.  It will be worth it in the end, though!
