I tried to avoid it as long as I could, but after having three girls the pink baby items overtook almost every baby item we owned. Now that we have a baby boy we have been slowly changing everything over to a more boyish style. One of my favorite items that we had for our girls was simple fabric covered storage boxes for diapers. I knew there had to be a way to create them on my own and so I made this one from a diaper box. This tutorial is NO SEW and NO GLUE! Just cut, fold and add a little tape. I love the way it turned out and by using the same diaper box that the diapers came in they fit perfectly. I used Parent’s Choice Diapers for this box because that is what we use at home!
Why do I use Parent’s Choice Diapers? I love the quality and affordability of Parent’s Choice diapers. The new and improved Parent’s Choice Diapers have all the features of pricier brands for much less. With Parent’s Choice Diapers I am saving $240.00 on average and right now they also have a coupon for even more savings! That’s a lot of moola saved and I am not sacrificing performance! Now onto the features of Parent’s Choice Diapers: The elastic waist band tabs makes securing the diaper so much easier. This is a feature that I have to have in a diaper because it also makes the diapers fit so much better.
Parent’s Choice Diapers also have a wetness indicator on the front. The yellow line means it’s dry and when it turns to blue then it’s wet! I put this diaper on my little one right before taking this pic and as you can see it didn’t take long to change that indicator to blue. lol
The elastic waistband really keeps the back side from gapping which has kept my little one’s backside from getting soiled! Parent’s Choice diapers are now more absorbent. My baby sleeps for at least 6 hours straight now so having an absorbent diaper is a must. Plus he’s happy in them as you can see! 3 out of 4 moms agree are the same or better than their current baby diaper brand of choice. See for yourself: save money, live better. To see a list of Walmart stores selling the new and improved Parent’s Choice diapers click here. Then make this super cute Fabric Covered Box to hold all your Parent’s Choice Diapers!
To make your own Fabric Covered Diaper Box you will need:
2 yards of fabric (preferably heavy duty- I used Burlap from Walmart)
tape
Diaper Box
A piece of cardboard cut to fit inside the bottom of the box
Directions: Take your fabric and lay it on a flat surface. Place the diaper box directly in the middle of the fabric piece. Cut lines from each corner diagonally just to about an inch away from the corners of the box. You will have 4 triangles of fabric. Cut each triangle into rectangles but leave 3 inches on each side for folding (see middle two pictures). Each piece of fabric needs to be folded and secured over the box much like wrapping a package. The two side edges (wider pieces) need to be folded in first and then wrapped around and secured with tape on the ends of the box (second picture from the top). For the two fabric pieces left (the ends of the box) you will need to fold the edges in like in the bottom left picture. Then fold the pieces of fabric over the taped ends so that all the pieces of fabric are inside the box. To secure everything place the piece of cardboard inside the box and push it down with the fabric ends underneath. Fill with baby odds and ends or diapers… nice to know that the diapers will fit perfectly since it is made with a diaper box!
This would make a great gift to a new mom too… filled up with Parent’s Choice Diapers!
