These Cheddar Cheese Chips with Green Onions are made with just cheese and onions! They crisp up perfectly to make a low carb/ keto or THM treat.
Anyone that has been on a lower carb diet for any amount of time probably misses chips. I think it’s the crunch that can be so appealing or maybe the salt. Either way I crave chips a lot. Crispy Cheddar chips with green onions have exactly the taste and crunch I love. They remind me of Sour Cream and Onion Chips.
These crunchy dudes are perfect just as they are and also excellent as croutons in a salad! Yum! Cheese chips are also virtually no carb unless you eat the ALL in one serving. For portion control sake I like to eat no more than 1/8 of the batch. That’s equivalent to 1/4 cup of cheese.
Cheddar Cheese Chips with Green Onions
These chips are made with just cheese and onions! They crisp up perfectly to make a low carb/ keto or THM treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups finely shredded cheddar cheese
- 5 green onions chopped, just the green part
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Place a silicone baking mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. Take around 2 Tbsp. of cheese and pile it in a circle shape on top of the mat or parchment paper. Repeat until the baking sheet is full of little cheese piles. Add a sprinkle of green onion to the top of each cheese pile. Bake around 10 to 15 minutes making sure to watch the chips. When the chip edges are turning brown take them out of the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up while cooling. After a few minutes you can take them off and serve!

I made these with wax paper instead of parchment paper because that is all I had. The wax paper stuck to the bottom of them! Does this happen with parchment paper? I'm wondering if i should buy parchment paper and try again. They looked so good, but i didn't dare to eat them with the wax paper stuck to them. Haha

Oh no! What a bummer. :( Parchment paper does not melt like wax paper and should not stick to the cheese. Parchment uses a thin coat of silicone which is non stick and you'll be much better off with parchment than wax.
