Brisket Nachos

Brisket Nachos!!!

This weekend my husband and I got to spend some time together on an actual date!  It’s been a while since we had the chance to go on a date since we had our 5th baby… so our date was long overdue.  We went out to a favorite steakhouse of ours and had some really awesome steaks and veggies.  Something else caught my eye on the menu while I was there and that was Brisket Nachos.  They sounded so good even though I didn’t get any.  When we got home I couldn’t stop thinking about them and decided to make my own version.  These Brisket Nachos will satisfy any cravings for salty, meaty and cheesy chips!  They are so good!!!

Brisket Nachos!

I was going to buy the pre-smoked brisket, but I realized that the pre-made brisket was almost $10 per pound compared to $1.98 for raw brisket meat.  My husband figured out a really awesome seasoning mix and we slow roasted the meat for 4 hours in a cast iron dutch oven.  The meat came out perfect and thanks to liquid smoke it had a nice smokey flavor!
