Aromatherapy Herb Garden

If you haven’t heard of the many benefits of aromatherapy… you might be living under a rock!  I won’t get into those today, but I wanted to share my new Aromatherapy Herb Garden!  I am not the greenest thumb on the planet, but I’m getting better every year.  I love having an abundant supply of herbs and I don’t need to worry about them going bad in the refrigerator. I just cut off what I need and the plants keep growing.

Fresh herbs have so many uses in foods, crafts and personal care!  Having an Aromatherapy Herb Garden pleases the senses of both taste and smell!

Aromatherapy Herb Garden 2

This year I am going all out with my favorite herbs from Bonnie plants.  What’s great about the Bonnie plants is that they are ready to plant in your garden or pots!  I am not as successful with plants from seedlings just yet and Bonnie plants had so many great selections.  I planted Bonnie Plants Sweet Basil, Flat Leaf Italian Parsley, Sweet Mint and Cilantro.  I will also be planting some Bonnie Plants Lavender plants in the near future as soon as they arrive at my Walmart.

I LOVE fresh sweet basil in bruschetta!  It’s a delicious recipe we make all the time!  It’s always better when I have the freshest cuts from my own herb garden.

Another use for herbs is to make a batch of potpourri.   Sweet Mint and lavender are my favorites to add into a pot of potpourri and the aroma is amazing!  It’s an instant mood booster for me.

Other uses for herbs to that have an aromatherapy benefit is to dry them and use them in soap making, make a sachet of herbs or even just rub them between your fingers and smell the released essential oils.

A good potting mix like this bag of Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix is essential!  I’ve loved how my Bonnie plants are growing with this potting mix.

The kids love gardening too and it’s a great activity to get the whole family involved.  My little ones even love sampling the herbs as we plant them. 🙂

What’s your favorite herb to plant?  Be sure to check out the Bonnie Plants website for
inspiration and how-to guides before purchasing your Bonnie Plants and Scotts Miracle-Gro
products at Walmart.  There are so many edibles to choose from, and getting started on your own
garden is easier than you think!
