I have figured out that you can ruffle just about anything and so I ruffled a shamrock! To be honest I had no idea how this would turn out. It was one of those things that I “had in my head” for a few weeks and HAD to get out! I think it turned out absolutely darling (of course the cute kid with her oh so cute “pose” helps too)!
Ruffled Shamrock Hair Clip
What you will need:
Green Ribbon (mine was from Hobby Lobby)
needle/ matching thread
cut a piece of craft foam into a clover shape (I got mine pre-cut from the Dollar tree)
Hair clip to glue on back or headband/ etc.
Directions: Take the Ribbon and sew a LONG line of thread through one side to make a long ruffle. Once you think you have enough ruffle (it will take a lot) then start gluing it down by starting with the outline of the shamrock.
Once you are finished gluing the outer layer of ribbon- just fill in the rest with more ruffled ribbon until you are through.
At this point to make the ruffles look more like the shamrock I turned the shamrock upside down and tucked the outer layer of ruffles around the backside with the hot glue… this step is optional…
Now just put a clip or secure a headband to the back and it is ready to be worn!
My daughters are safe from any pinching this season! 😛 This really turned out adorable!
We like ruffles around here! How about you?
