Watering Can Photo Gift for Mother’s Day

My mom is not really hard to buy for.  All she really wants is pics of the girls or something thoughtful.  This year I am getting creative and making her something she can display for years to come.  I came up with this Watering Can Photo Gift and I think it is SO cute!    I know my mom will love it!  There are tons of options to making this too.  If you don’t want to use a watering can… a flower pot would be cute as well!   I love the faces in the flowers for girls, but if you have boys you could cut out a caterpillar or some other garden bug as well!

This Watering Can Photo Gift is SO cute and easy to make.  To find supplies for my project I went to Walmart.

When I was there I found this Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spot Stamper!  I had originally planned on just getting the spots or Adhesive Squares, but I really wanted to try this out.  I am so glad that I did!

I also found this X-ACTO Circle Cutter.  I always have a hard time cutting circles and so I was hoping this would work!  It worked great… you can see the results below!  To see the rest of my shopping trip see my album on Google +.

Supplies you will need:

Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spot Stamper or Elmer’s Craft Bond Permanent Adhesive Squares

Elmer’s Painters Paint Markers (I used White)

Printed Pictures (make sure to use pictures where the subject is far away in the photo- so that you can make smaller circles)

Stickers

Scrapbook paper for at least 6 flowers and enough to cover up the florist foam

X-ACTO Designer Series Circle Cutter

Watering Can or Flower Pot

Florist Foam

Floral Picks (found mine at Walmart)

Flower Shape Stencil (I just found this flower image online and cut it out- I used both sizes)

Let’s get started!

I first put the florist foam into the can.  I really had to be creative with it to get it all in there, but I just “smooshed” it around!

Next I painted the wording onto the can with the Elmer’s Painters Paint Marker.  I put “Grandma’s Garden of Love since this was a gift from my girls to my mom!

This is a pic of the floral picks that I used.  They came with the wire already on there!

Using the flowers that you picked out online- trace them onto scrapbook paper and cut out.  Make sure that you cut two identical pieces because you will layer one on top of the other.

Once I had them cut out I folded the sides of one of them up.

Pole two holes in each of the flowers so that the wire will fit through.

Then just thread the wire through the holes like a button… thread both flower pieces at the same time.  Then wrap the remaining wire around the Floral Pick.

Next… cut out a face from your photos.  I used the X-ACTO Designer Series Circle Cutter for this.  Worked great!

To place the photos onto the flowers you will need to use your Elmer’s Craft Bond Adhesive Spot Stamper or Elmer’s Craft Bond Permanent Adhesive Squares.  I really love the stamper because it is so quick and easy.  My girls liked helping out with this too!

Then just stick the pic on the flower and your flowers are done.  Make as many as you want!  I made some more flowers without the pic in the middle also to finish the project. For the middle I just cut circles out of scrapbook paper.

Isn’t it cute?!?  What a wonderful Mother’s Day gift that any Mom or Grandma will love!

My developer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.

I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.

But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on numerous websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform.

I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
