I’ve been seeing these super cute pin-cushion rings around Etsy and thought I might try to make one of my own. Think of how handy it is to have a pincushion right on your hand!!! Although I couldn’t find a ring base that was big enough- I made due with what I had… here is the tutorial…
gather up the supplies:
Thread
needle
sewing machine
hot glue and super glue
1 sheet felt (I used a soft felt)
ring base (got mine from Hobby Lobby)
plastic disk or thin button for base
1/4 inch wide ribbon (I used grosgrain)
Hot glue plastic disk (I used one from a game) or a medium sized button to bottom of felt (needs to be large enough to cover most of felt so when you push the pins in you don’t get poked!)
Hot glue ribbon around the edge of felt…
Hot glue (Edited to add that metal rings need super glue instead of hot glue!) ring base to disk or button… and you are finished! Now let your daughters model the ring and tell you how much they would like one of their own… 😛 Yes they really do want one of their own- although they will NOT be using as a pincushion!!! LOL!
