This list of supplies to keep nearby while breastfeeding includes Jif™Bars as a part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #TeamJif
It’s been a month now since our 5th born (baby boy) arrived! He is such a cutie and has filled our hearts with so much joy. Having 5 kids, I’ve learned that you can never be too prepared for the newborn stage, especially when it comes to breastfeeding! My biggest advice to new mom is that the early days of breastfeeding are always the hardest. My little guy sometimes wants to feed as early as 1 hour past his last meal and this can get pretty draining at times. That’s why I suggest keeping plenty of supplies handy while breastfeeding because mama needs to relax too!
One thing that happens almost instantly when I start to nurse is that I get very thirsty and hungry! I make sure to keep a bottle of water nearby at all times and I keep protein filled snacks on hand that are not too messy. One of my favorite snacks to have is Chocolate Peanut Butter Jif™ Bars. They taste so good and I can eat them easily (one handed) while breastfeeding my little one. They are a good source of protein and combine crunchy Jif peanut butter and a chewy granola bar. Nothing beats Jif peanut butter when I am hungry and Jif Bars always hit the spot. Other things I like to keep around are things to keep me busy or common things I end up needing handy like a tissue or my phone. Here is my handy list of common items I keep around…
My supplies might include:
- Breast pads and nipple cream
- Burp cloths
- A water bottle
- Snacks like Jif Bars that are easy to hold
- Tissues
- Reading material
- A notebook for jotting down when and how long you nursed
- Breastfeeding Pillow
- Phone
- Gum
- Wet Wipes
- Soft Blanket
- Diapers
- chapstick
- hair elastic or headband
If I keep these supplies handy it makes breastfeeding go so much more smoothly. I do have to keep my eye on the Jif Bars because they tend to disappear from time to time. I buy plenty of packages for my kids as well as myself for that reason! 😉 I am glad my kids love them because they are a delicious and easy snack to serve both at home and on the go. Plus the protein in them is great for a breastfeeding mama as well as the kiddos. You really can’t go wrong with Jif Bars!
What do you like to have handy when you are breastfeeding? I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions!
