It’s a common southern tradition to offer Black Eyed Peas just after midnight on New Year’s Day. I really didn’t know much about this tradition until my adult-hood, but since it’s a fun tradition I thought we would make some this year! My favorite way of making Black Eyed Peas is Seasoned and Oven- Crispy… this makes them really crunchy and delicious! You may want to make two or three cans of these depending on how many people end up munching on them because they are addicting!
Start out by rinsing a can of the black eyed peas in running water and then draining them. Then place them on a towel to dry.
Once they are dry, toss them in the seasoning mix. Spread them out on a oil sprayed cookie sheet and then spray them once more with some oil (I use the Misto Sprayer)
I bake mine at 375 for about 45 minutes or until they are deep brown and crispy! You can make these for New Years or anytime for a great snack!
Sorry… these are all mine. You will have to get your own! 😉 Also… don’t tell the kids, but they are super healthy too! Enjoy!

Hi. Can I make this with dried beans? Do I have to soak them to rehydrate before baking?

I am rather impressed with the Misto Olive Oil Sprayer I purchased last yr. It uses less oil which has to be more healthy and it will save money as well.
