Ice Cream Truffles! {Heart Shaped}

 Decadent little ice cream filled truffles.  They are so rich and dreamy!  These are perfect for a special occasion.  You can make these into any shape!
 Ice Cream Truffles {Heart Shaped}

What you will need: (everything but the kitchen sink!) just kidding, but really you can go for one flavor- or do like I did and mix 8 different flavors… of course I used what I already had on hand (that is the fun of truffles right?  You never know what you will bite into!)

Directions:
first make the ice cream base:
Good quality all natural ice cream
milk
butter
You will also need:
chocolate chips or white chocolate chips (or both)
coconut oil
silicone ice cube mold (mine is from the dollar spot at Target  $2.50/ 2)
flavors to mix in… see different flavor suggestions below:

Next pick out some fun flavors to mix in with your ice cream base:
These are the ones I chose… other ideas are frozen concentrate juice like orange or pineapple… yummy! Really anything goes as long as it is ice cream and chocolate compatible… yes even bacon!!! 🙂

You will need a bowl per flavor and divvy out 1 tsp. of each ingredient… except the kool-aid was just lightly sprinkled in with the blueberries- this ended up being one of our favorites!
 (Oh and I am sure everyone still uses words like divvy it out right?)

Next put in 2 tablespoons (you can eyeball it if you want) of ice cream per bowl and 1 tsp. each of butter and milk per bowl.  Mix this up and melt it in the microwave for about 10 seconds or until it becomes a milky consistency.

Once you have everything mixed and melted (this might take some time depending on how many flavors you choose)  pour it into the mold.  The mold I bought held about a Tbsp. each.

Freeze for at least 3 hours or overnight
  Once they are frozen solid start popping them out of the mold.  This was easy- see! 🙂
Gather up some more ingredients for the toppings.  Some of these I had used before for the filling.   Again you really can’t go wrong with this… anything goes- sea salt is my fave! 🙂
 Mix up 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or white chocolate chips) and 1 Tbsp. coconut oil- melt in the microwave for 30 seconds or until most of it is melted… be careful not to overcook- the chocolate will burn and taste nasty!!!   Coconut oil is great for a shell because it hardens at 77 degrees!

Now comes the part where you have to work fast.  These will melt fairly quickly, so you might want to start off with one or two while storing the rest in the freezer- then take them out as you go.   Just take your frozen ice cream and dip it in the chocolate.

 Flip it over to the other side- once it is coated take out with a fork and transfer to wax paper.  (your hands may get messy like mine)
 Immediately sprinkle with the topping- the chocolate hardens quickly!
 Diamonds are a girls best friend?  No, I think chocolate is! 🙂

 Enjoy!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?

Love these--and love that you're a fellow Target fan--I have the same mold from last year (though mine is in my soaping stuff--I may have to pick up a fresh set for food projects!)
