Do you ever use movies to teach values and character traits to your kids? I think certain movies can be a great teaching tool and I love the new Disney Planes movie for this very reason. The girls and I watched it the other day on DVD and we had some great discussions about always doing what is right and how to have courage!
The movie Planes is about a Crop Duster named Dusty and how he has always had a dream of racing. Of course, since he is a crop duster, know one actually thinks he can do it. He was certainly the underdog in this movie! We see his dreams, his struggles and most of all his learning how to have courage in difficult circumstances. This movie was great for our whole family! Plenty of humor, great action scenes and a great moral.
After the movie my hubby and I discussed what was going on in the movie and how we can learn to have courage despite our circumstances just like Dusty did. The girls really liked talking about courage and how it can apply to the things they are going through now. They also touched on some of the more subtle messages of the movie like being a good friend and doing what is right! I love it when a movie teaches such great values!!! I highly suggest this movie as a teaching tool for kids!
If you are interested in this movie you can own it on Blu-ray Combo Pack & Digital HD on November 19!Also check out these cute Airplane Propeller Snacks we ate during the movie! The girls loved them!!!
