Minions was definitely one of the most anticipated movies for my family this year.  We are in love with those adorable little minions and when we found out there would be a movie about them we knew we had to see it!  The movie was so good and absolutely hilarious!  It kept us laughing the whole time.  Since Illumination Entertainment’s Minions movie came out on DVD last week I thought it would be fun to have a Minions Sundae Party and Movie Viewing.   We headed out to Target to find our party supplies and the Minions © 2015 Universal Studios. All rights reserved. on DVD.  I love shopping at Target because they have everything that we need in one store.  From the decorations to the food we were able to find it all there.

The Minions movie was released on DVD December 8th, 2015 and we found the big display at Target that day.   The Minions Metalpak Blu-ray/DVD  Deluxe is a Target exclusive and includes 40 minutes of Target exclusive content!  The exclusive content includes a Minions party planner with invitations, decorations, and more to help create the perfect party.  We also found out that with the purchase of the Blu-Ray/DVD MetalPak, you get a $5 Target gift card.  This was a nice little surprise at the register!!!  This offer is valid only with this version of the movie release.  Target also has fun Minions licensed products like toys, books and even apparel too.  Once we had the movie and toys we headed to the food section and found all our ice cream sundae supplies.

We really enjoyed these minions sundaes!  Such a fun and cute idea to use sprinkles and candy eyes for the rim of the waffle bowls to represent those cute little minions!

Be sure to have lots of toppings on hand for everyone to add their favorites!  My kids were especially fond of the yellow and blue fruits!!!  For the background my husband hung some crepe paper streamers vertically and twisted them all with the same pattern.  I thought it turned out really cute for the background and something very simple to recreate.  We also used minion action figures to adorn the table with.  There was no doubt that we were having a minion themed party!!!

Once we were through eating our yummy sundaes we also played a game that my family came up with!  Here is how to play:

Minions movie master match game: You can get the free printables here! Use Minions action figures or have children draw dressed-up minions (or draw pictures of their “masters”) on sheets of paper that go along with each of the free printables. To play the game, lay all the printed sheets out on a table with the minions or drawings mixed in the center, then simply take turns matching all the minion characters or drawings with the printed “master” or “boss” of that time period or era, such as Napoleon, T-Rex, or Pharaoh! Younger children may need help from an adult or older child. To make things more exciting, use a stopwatch to time each child or place the sheets in different positions before each child begins. This can also be a fun learning time of teaching children about the different time periods, characters, and historical people presented in the movie!
