Inside Out was definitely one of our favorite movies of the year. When I heard that the movie was coming out on DVD/Blu-Ray on Nov. 3rd I knew we had to throw an Inside Out Movie viewing night! My whole family got in on the fun and we created games, foods, cake and more. We just love the theme of the movie and it’s been great for discussing our different emotions with the kids.
This movie is one that makes me smile, laugh and yes… even ugly cry (if you’ve seen it you know what I mean).
I bought my DVD/Blu-Ray copy of Inside Out at Target because DVDs and Blu-Rays purchased at Target include 20 minutes of exclusive bonus content and deleted scenes. We also found other great items at Target for our party including food, baking mixes and even fun themed toys! Here are the details of our Ultimate Inside Out Party!
First of all… the cake! This is maybe my third time decorating a cake with fondant and I think it turned out super cute! The bottom tier is a 12 inch round cake covered with purple fondant and the top cake is a 6 inch round cake covered with purple fondant. The characters are small toys that I found at Target. The rest of the decorations are also made from fondant and the balls are gum-balls that were cut in half with kitchen shears.
What a lovable character Bing Bong is. I thought this snack mix was just too fun and it includes Market Pantry Animal Cookies, Simply Balanced Organic Popcorn, Candy Coated chocolates and Market Pantry Chocolate Chips! Just mix em all up and it makes a delicious treat to enjoy with the movie!
My inspiration for Disgust’s Broccoli Pizza is actually in the movie! I won’t give it away, but it’s a fun scene. Disgust is actually my favorite character in this movie… she’s so funny! We made ours using Market Pantry Extra Cheese pizza and Market Pantry Cut Broccoli. Just top the pizza with the broccoli before baking and cook according to the directions. So easy and perfect for the theme!
Next up we had some fruit and yogurt parfaits with different kinds of fruits representing the different emotions. I also colored some tapioca balls with the different colors too OR you could also use candy coated chocolates for the topping. We layered Market Pantry Vanilla Greek Yogurt and different Market Pantry frozen fruits into some Up & Up premium plastic cups. Then I topped them with Market Pantry Whipped cream and the Tapioca balls. So cute and a fresh treat that kids will love!
While at Target I spotted this Archer Farms Lemon Cheesecake Bars mix and knew they would be perfect for Joy’s Luscious Lemon Bars! These are so good and tangy. I topped them with some candy coated chocolates too!
I used some of the leftover gum-balls to make these gum-ball swizzle sticks! Just poke a hole through the gum-balls and stick a wooden skewer inside. You can use them to stir drinks or just let the kids eat them! The jar has different colored water balls inside which reminded me of the memories from the movie. They made a nice table decoration.
Once we were finished eating and watching the movie we headed outside for a fun Inside Out tossing game. My kids all wore different colored shirts for the different characters too! We used Disney Tsum Tsum Mini Inside Out Characters to play the game with which I also found at Target. Everyone playing the game tossed each character and the goal was to land the right character with the right color. Each time they matched up you got the amount of points written on the paper. My kids loved this game and it’s one I think we will be playing a lot!
You may have noticed the awesome background that my husband crafted from two pieces of foam board, mini lights and transparent plastic balls. He worked so hard on it that I think it deserves it’s own post! I will be sharing how he made it in a couple of days… so be sure to check back!
So I want to know… What is your favorite Inside Out character? Be sure to check out Target for your own Ultimate Inside Out Movie Party supplies!
