I don’t know why we waited so long to make our own slime, but it was SO easy and super fun! I think I was just afraid of the clean up, but it wasn’t that bad. Making slime reminded me of being around 4th grade and playing with the store bought version. Who knew it was so easy to make your own? So fun! Just don’t use it to actually slime someone… it’s just for playing with hands!
Supplies you will need are:
School Glue
Borax
Plastic Cups fill halfway with water
2 large craft sticks
Food Coloring
(we tried to make ours glow in the dark with fabric paint, but it did not work)
(cleaning supplies for cleanup)
To make: Mix 1/4 Borax in one of the cups of water and add enough glue to fill almost to the top of the second cup of water. Mix each cup well. Add food coloring to the cup with glue and mix until combined. Add around 1 Tbsp. of the Borax mixture into the Glue Mixture and stir. Lift up the craft stick and you should see the slime forming. Keep adding the Borax mixture 1 Tbsp. at a time until your slime is the consistency you want! Lift up slime and store in another plastic cup. The slime will last for a long time in a tightly sealed plastic container. Discard if it starts smelling bad. Also DO NOT get this slime on hair and this slime will get stuck on clothes or carpets.
Here is a short video of one I made:
It’s gloopy… it’s gloppy… and it’s totally awesome! I think I enjoyed this as much as my kids! 😉
Have you ever made slime? I can’t believe it is this easy! My kids have been playing with it all day so I’d say it’s a winner!
