I wrote a post a week ago about DIY photography, and I talked about photoshop elements… Something that I stumbled upon recently was preset photoshop “Actions” that others have made to help make photo processing easier. The best news is that I found a really great website that has some great actions for free!!! It does take some time learning how to get the actions to upload to Photoshop Elements, but I think that the results are well worth it!
Click the link here for the actions.
Here is an example of using an action! This action is the “Perfect Portrait” action from the coffee shop website…
I cropped the picture then applied the action… it puts the layers on for you, then you adjust them from there (something that is explained in detail on the website).
The results look professional IMO! Can’t wait to learn more about actions! Oh and did I mention that Adobe is having a sale on the new Elements 8… $30 off the original price until May 10th! I think Elements is well worth your money if you are getting started in photography and want something easy and semi professional to use. Click here to go to the Adobe Photoshop Elements website.

i really love and appreciate all your posts about diy photography. I want to learn so much more about it. I'm considering buying a software like photoshop elements or even adobe lighroom I just don't know what? I needs something that is fast and not much of a learning curve because I don't have a lot of time between working, sewing, creating, cleaning...ugh. anywho...just thinking out loud.
