Bacon Party with Bacon Mini Food

Welcome to the well anticipated Wright Bacon Party!  This was the ultimate tasting party and fun for all ages!  What made this party even better was the fact that we used the best bacon in the world… Wright Bacon!  I realize that some of you may be leery of me giving any one kind of bacon this title, but it is true.  I have tried a lot of bacon in my life and none can compare to the Wright brand bacon.  It’s the perfect thickness and has the most natural tasting smoky flavor.

They recently came out with the Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon and let. me. tell. you….. it is out of this world!!!  It’s the perfect blend of salty, smoky and sweet.  It was perfect to use for my Sweet n’ Salty Bacon Onion Dip (recipe below),  Mini Bacon Milkshakes, the Mini Bacon Cinnamon Roll Pops and the Bacon Kettle Corn!   We also enjoyed eating the bacon alone too!  The Brown Sugar Bacon was my personal favorite!  I was able to get all of my Wright Bacon from Sam’s Club!

The bacon was easy to find right by the cold cut meats!  We passed by one of the Sam’s workers that was giving out samples of some pork and I told her that I was shopping for Wright Bacon.  She immediately smiled and said, “I LOVE Wright Bacon… it is the best”!   So as you can see: I am not the only one that thinks it is the best ! 😉

Here is a pic of my girl really enjoying the pork loin sample we all tried!  We all love going to Sam’s Club and trying all the different foods they have.  Very clever marketing if you ask me!  You can see the rest of the trip on Google Plus!

So let’s get on with the party!  Up first the Mini appetizers:

The Sweet n’ Salty Bacon Onion Dip was a BIG hit!   It went perfectly with both the veggies and the chips.  I used the Wright Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon and some Caramelized Onions for this dip…  it was amazing!   I have included the recipe below (only 4 ingredients)!

Next up in line were these B.L.T. bites!   We all just popped em in our mouths and they tasted just like a B.L.T. without the bread.  To make these just cut the bottom of some cherry tomatoes (you will display these top side down) and take the guts and seeds out of the middle (discard or use for something else).  Make a mixture of chopped lettuce mayo and bacon and stuff it inside the tomatoes!  So easy, plus they look and taste incredible!  These would taste great with any flavor of the Wright bacon, but I used the Applewood flavor.

Mini Bread Bowls with Potato Bacon Soup… need I go on?  LOL   Potato bacon soup is one of my favorite comfort foods!  I just make a basic recipe for mine, but any potato bacon soup will be fine for this… just make sure its a thick soup so that it won’t leak through the bread.   To make the Mini Bread bowls I used a basic sourdough bread rolls recipe and made the rolls a little smaller than the standard size.  I took the tops off and hollowed them out just a little and filled them with the soup!  They were so easy to just bite into !  We all loved the flavors of the bread and soup mingling together in every bite!

I have to admit that the first time I heard of bacon and ice cream together I was appalled.  I just couldn’t imagine the two really going together at all.  To my surprise: I really do like bacon ice cream!  Even better are these Mini Bacon Milkshakes!  I just mixed vanilla ice cream, a little milk and some chopped bacon together.  Everyone loved these as well… the kids especially!

Along the same lines as Bacon Milkshakes were these Mini Bacon Cinnamon Roll Pops.  These were all the kids’ favorite and the adults devoured them too… ;)!   I just took a can of cinnamon roll dough and split each dough roll in half and re-shaped them into circles again.  Then I placed some lolly-pop sticks in each one and baked per the directions on the can.   Then I iced the rolls and sprinkled some chopped Wright Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon on top of each one.  Yummy!!!!

If all of that bacon wasn’t enough… my friend, Vanessa brought her stove-top popcorn pot and we made Bacon Kettle Corn!  We took some of the leftover bacon grease and popped the popcorn with that and some sugar.  Then we sprinkled chopped Wright Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon on top !  WOW … it’s addicting!!!

So onto the party!!!

Here is my hubby enjoying the Wright Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon by itself… he’e a big fan as you can tell!
The Sweet n’ Salty Bacon Onion dip was so good that Vanessa wanted to get every last bit of it out!  🙂  (I have the most fun friend ever!)

Little miss Pinkie Pie enjoyed her Mini Bacon Cinnamon Roll pops right to the end!

 So did her sissy!

Vanessa’s little girl… She was so sweet and she loved the bacon too! 😉

After all the tasting inside we went outside to enjoy a game of Bacon Bowling (Vanessa’s idea)!   We had painted a pumpkin with pink paint and drew a face on it to look like a pig , then we took some empty bottles and set them up like pins!  The kids had a great time knocking them down with the pig!

It was a great time had by all!

I think everyone should have a Wright Bacon Party of their own!!!

Here is the recipe for the Sweet n’ Salty Bacon Onion Dip:

Sweet n' Salty Bacon Onion Dip

Sweet n' Salty Bacon Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 Medium sized onions cut into thin rings
  • 6 strips of Wright Brown Sugar Flavored Bacon
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup of sour cream
  • *dash of salt for the onions, very minimal

Instructions

  1. First lightly caramelize the onions by placing them in a skillet over low heat for about an hour until they are a blonde/ brown color (use a small amount of salt sprinkled at the beginning). Remove from heat and cool. Meanwhile put the strips of bacon on top of a foil covered baking sheet and cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until dark brown and crispy. Once the bacon and onions are cooled down place them both in a food processor and pulse until thoroughly chopped. Take a medium sized bowl and mix the bacon onion mixture with the Mayo and sour cream. Chill and serve cold with veggies and potato chips.

Just chop the cooked bacon and onions in  food processor…

Then add the mayo and sour cream to the mix…

 This is SO addictingly good!

Wow the plates on the wall are a fabulous idea!!! And the bacon bowling is a perfect example of creative thinking. I love that you converted a game to work with your theme. I try to do that whenever possible. http://www.sophie-world.com/parties
