We found out recently that baby #3 is a girl! Her name will be Elise Love. This makes 3 girls in a row!!! We are very excited to welcome this little one into the world. One thing that I have never had is a dedicated nursery room. Something that I have been dreaming about since we found out we were expecting this little one. As soon as we found out the gender I went shopping and planning… lol… Honestly I think that crib bedding is WAY overpriced for a product that will be used for a year or 2 at the most. There are some cute ones out there, but I tend to be a bit picky. I was thinking something not TOO pink. We have been there and done that, and honestly I didn’t want a whole room of pink this time.
I got some inspiration while on Etsy. I found this cute little diaper bag (I’d be buying it if it weren’t for the fact I have 2 now!) and decided that the dot pattern was exactly what I wanted in bedding. The seller at that Etsy gave me a heads up that she got this fabric at Hobby Lobby. So I went to Hobby Lobby very hopeful that I would find it and I did! I was able to get 6 yards which is hopefully enough for the bedding. While there I also found all the other great items in the pic above at a great price. Hobby Lobby always has a great sale, and they also usually have a 40% off coupon for one reg. price item on their website and weekly ad. (found here) Everything in the first picture cost a little over $40.00. Not bad considering I could have spent close to $200.00 on bedding alone! Now I just have to put my mad sewing skills to work (LOL).
The second picture of the room above is my inspiration for the room. I tweaked it a little (on photoshop of course) with the material that I will be making the bedding with and the crib that my parents purchased for Elise. The room may not be exactly like the pic once it’s done, but I just needed to see if the color scheme worked.
Now to the hard part… all the day dreaming is over! Time to get to work… I will post more once I have some progress!
