Could this belt be any cuter? I love the simple/ clean look of it AND the fact that it took me less than 15 minutes to make!
This would look great for a woman too… just change up the colors to your taste! I love this belt because it really accentuates the waist (in a good way)!
((((On a side note… Look at my sweetie girl with her two teeth missing… see em? Yep… she is so proud and I am in awe of how big she is getting! It goes fast peeps… just so ya know.))))
#4 Denim and Ribbon Belt
What you will need:
old denim jeans- FREE
Ribbon- up to $2.00– you will have enough left over for other projects!
Scissors
Sewing machine and
denim colored thread- up to $2.00
Depending on the supplies you already have on hand this could be free or up to $4.00
Directions:
You will want to measure your waist (or the wearers waist). Take that measurement and subtract 3 inches. Whatever number that is will be the length you will cut for the belt. The belt I made was about 3 inches wide and so I cut the fabric 7 inches wide. The final product will be about half of the width you cut- so keep that in mind. Once you have everything cut fold the material in half and sew the edges together (inside out).
Once you have sewed it together… start pulling the fabric through so that the right side is up.
Lay everything out with the seam in the middle of the backside. Iron if needed at this point. Now take the raw edges on both ends and sew with one fold to the back.
Cut about 2- 18 inch strips from the ribbon roll. Heat seal the edges and sew one ribbon to each side. Your ribbon should be sewed about in inch inside so that it is sturdy. Well that was easy… you now have a cute and fashionable belt! Now go make some for your friends! 🙂
“Sew” Simple!
Happy Creating! Hope to see you tomorrow at the Project Party Weekend!
