How to Glitter Shoes

“And all that glitters is go-uh-old… Only shooting stars break the mo-uh-old…”
I wish I could capture on camera how bright and shiny these are in person!  They are so cute… my daughter couldn’t wait to put them on.  Of course they were simple to make.  Can you glue?  Can you sprinkle glitter on the glue?
Congratulations... you have all the skills necessary to make these shoes!!!
All That Glitters Shoes
what you will need:
Glitter- 2 tubes (I used one, but barely had enough)  $2.47 e. at Hobby Lobby (they have a 40% off coupon this week!)
Shoes- I used some old cloth shoes (re-purpose)-  you can use most shoes for this- make sure to scuff up hard shoes with a nail file/ sandpaper before applying the Mod Podge
Mod Podge- I use this so often for everything- if you don’t have any yet it sells for around $5
Paintbrush
Tin Foil covered pan- it gets messy. and you will need to catch the loose glitter in the foil

Total Cost: around $4.00 to $10.00 depending on the supplies you need.

Here is a picture of the supplies:
Pour a little glue in a disposable bowl.   Brush on the glue to the parts that you want the glitter on… I worked in sections, but with the second shoe I just coated the whole shoe before sprinkling the glitter on.
Next sprinkle a generous coat of glitter making sure that there are no uncovered spots… If there are spots that don’t have any glitter… take some more glue and brush it on the spot… then cover again with the glitter.  Let dry for a few hours.
 Enjoy your new glittery shoes!!!

 Happy Creating!
And if you still have that Smashmouth song in your head.. well I am sorry. LOL! 😛

Those shoes are glitterific! I'll admit I'm a little scared of glitter everywhere! :)

So far the glitter is holding up! It does leave a little glitter on her, but I've noticed all the store bought glitter shoes do the same.
