Tax Time and a Desk Makeover! ⋆ Sprinkle Some Fun

It’s that time of the year again…. Tax Season!!! Do you dread it or take it on with gusto?

I decided this year would be a little different. Instead of my usual desk mess on top of tax prep mess- I got organized!!! Of course just getting organized wouldn’t do… I had to pretty up my space! This space serves our family as a blog-space, homeschool center and my hubby’s work desk too! Add tax prep to the mix and if we aren’t careful the mess will overtake us all!!! (I am not kidding lol!)

Here is my finished space all ready to go! I have my coffee ready and the Tax File Folder Pulled out.

I found the bins to the right at Walmart for $1.00!!! I was so excited to find such pretty and cheap storage bins. They also had a candy dish in the same design that was also a dollar. You can see that to the left with push pins inside. All of that (excluding the pins) was only $4.00!!!

I also bought some post it notes (again from the $1.00 section). These come in handy especially during tax time!

Before going to Walmart I made sure to include pencils and a pencil sharpener on my list! Between homeschool, blogging and my hubby’s job we go through a lot of pencils!!! The pencil sharpener we had was just a piece of junk so I was excited to shop for a new one. Of course I had to embellish the pencils a bit when we got home… I will have a tutorial on them later this week!

I needed something that would work well and sharpen lots of pencils! I found a coupon online for $3.00 off an X-ACTO Spira Pencil Sharpener! Once I got to the store and saw them I was sold! I really love the look of the Spira and it comes in 3 colors!!!

Let me tell you… this X-ACTO SHARPENS!!! It was so easy to sharpen all 20 pencils that I bought. It even makes a different noise when it’s through so I didn’t have to guess how long to sharpen them!
