Spring has officially sprung in my part of the world. The birds are singing, the air is fresh and flowers are blooming everywhere. There is one problem though… my living room has been neglected since Christmas! :/
Bland and boring. This is exactly how it looked up until a few days ago. I decided that it was time to makeover the living room for spring! I knew that I wanted something fun, bright and cheerful. I also wanted to get a new air freshener that smelled spring-like. I found out about the new line of air fresheners from Renuzit called “Fresh Accents” so I checked them out on facebook.
(get your coupon on Facebook )
While there, I got a $1.00 coupon for the Fresh Accents by sending an e-card! I have to say that the marketing for this is pretty clever and hilarious! 😛 Armed with my coupon for Renuzit Fresh Accents and a coupon for Hobby Lobby I went out to shop for my spring makeover! I wanted to spend no more than $100.00 dollars in all!
To my surprise the Fresh Accents by Renuzit was only $1.76 at my Walmart. {what?} There were other brands that were selling similar products for up to $8.00! With the coupon it was only $0.76 cents plus tax!!! Since I am pretty obsessed with things that smell good I ended up getting both the “Raspberry” and “After the Rain”!
You can see the rest of my shopping expereince (including how I took off my heels) on my Google + album.
I went a little crazy and spent a big chunk of the $100.00 dollars at Hobby Lobby. What can I say? I love to craft! The rest of the money was spent at Target and the Thrift store, but I think you will be amazed that I spent less than $100.00 dollars when you see the makeover!

This basket I found at the thrift store for $1.00! It still had a tag on it that said $30.00 on it! woot!
These birds I already had, but they now have a nest with speckled eggs and flowering branches!
Remember the prize winning placemat pillows that I made last year? I made some more placemat pillows and embellished them with fabric flowers!
The frame above is another thrift store find. I filled it up with pictures that make me smile… and you will have to come back next week and see how I made it and the wall art!!!
I love this branch that I covered with fake flowers and fake vines… it really looks like spring in my living room now!
This candle holder with beads is simple yet gorgeous. It’s the simple changes that really make the difference in any room.
What are some ways that you like to freshen things up in your home? I’d really love to hear what you like to do in the springtime!

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you've done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox.
Exceptional Blog!
