Home Renovation

We live in a 1950’s bungalow house.  The thing I liked most about the house when we bought it was the kitchen.  There wasn’t anything spectacular about it, but it did have a lot of space and cabinets compared to other houses in our price range.  Everything but the electrical appliances were as old as the house.  It had charm and character.  I was happy with it.  I decorated it to the T with 1950’s retro style table and chairs to boot…

Then the faucet started leaking.  No big deal… nothing my handy husband can’t fix… Right?  Well the leaking faucet was just the tip of the iceberg.  My hubby went to fix the faucet and after taking everything apart this is what was revealed…

This is what was underneath the faucet.  I am sure it had probably leaked at some time and it got really bad.  Plus being an older house the tiles were not in great shape to begin with.  The leaky faucet had actually been holding the tiles together.  After taking it all apart the tiles underneath literally PEELED up.  Here are some more photos:

(this my vengeful look…lol)

There is more of the story to come!!!
