Isn’t this stop motion video so fun? My two oldest girls and I made it today and we wanted to share it with everyone! They are so creative and I was surprised at how easily they came up with the story! Stop motion videos are the perfect activity for kids and adults alike. It’s great to see these two working together to come up with the ideas too. Who knows, they may be videographers in the making! I can see us making many more of these in the near future because they were all smiles once they saw the end product. This video features Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers which is one of my girls’ favorite snacks!
How to make a Stop Motion Video for Family Fun
Sometimes the hardest part is coming up with the story itself so I gave the girls the Space theme using Goldfish® crackers. The Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers we used were the colors variety. My girls decided to use the green Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers as the “aliens” and the rest were used as the astronauts! Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers are always baked with real cheese and have no artificial flavors or preservatives. They are a snack I can feel good about my kids eating (and making videos) with.
For their first video they used things they could find around the house like celery, construction paper and cotton filling. They arranged the items in a flat lay so that they could easily take the pics from above. You can see in the pic where we had the phone set up above the table.
Make sure you have plenty of light. We had light from the window and another light. You also want to make sure not to move the camera at all once you start taking the pics. Once you’re ready just move the items in your scene a little bit at a time and take pics of each movement. The more pics the better!
To create the final video we used an app on my iphone which was so easy and even had music and sound effects. There are plenty to choose from and you can find some more helpful tips on the Goldfish Tales animation contest page!
Be sure to check out the Goldfish Tales animation contest going on. Create a stop-motion film with your kids featuring Goldfish crackers and you could win $5,000!
