Aren’t these DIY Custom Colored Candies fun? Just think of all the colors of candy you can make! Perfect for an event when you are going for a certain color scheme. Recently we had a gender reveal party and I wanted my colors to be Mint and Coral. I didn’t find many things in my color scheme so I made everything custom… including these candies! They are SO easy to make too!
All you need is food coloring and white or pearl colored candy coated candies. These were sixlets that I found at a local party store, but I have also seen them at Walmart. Another idea is white M&M’s or just about any white coated candies… you may need to experiment to see which ones work. Just take a plastic bag and put the amount of candies you want colored into the bag. Add a few drops of food coloring or a dab of food coloring paste and shake! A little color goes a long way so add sparingly- you can always add more if needed. Some colors may come out a little speckled especially if your gel colors are too dry. Also the candies may get too wet if you want a deeper color… try out deeper colors in a smaller batch to make sure it works first. Once you are finished coloring place the candies on a paper towel to dry. You can even blot them a little to remove excess coloring.
I think they turned out perfect! This really gives me so many more color possibilities when planning parties! So pretty!!!
