I was just now reading an article about a “possibly” drunk teen that was in a high speed car wreck and is now in critical condition. My first thought is that we all really need to be praying for this young man! I am sure that the circumstances of how he got to that point don’t really matter right now to his friends and family. According to the Tulsa police it took the “jaws of life” to get him out of the mangled wreckage. He was pinned in there for 30 minutes before he was life-flighted to the hospital. When something happens and it’s something that someone did to themselves because of a foolish decision… rescue workers still come in to the rescue. They worked as hard as they could to get him out no matter what. After looking at the wreck (see photo above) I don’t think the reporters were exaggerating about how much effort it took to free him.
Truth be told… I was once just like that young man in the wreckage.
I was hopeless… without a way of having hope. My life was a wreckage. It may have seemed to be okay on the outside. After all… I was only 7 when I came to Christ, but according to the Bible I was born into this thing called sin. I was a slave to it from birth and it would eventually ruin me. I needed a rescue worker. I needed someone to come and pull me out before it was too late. That is when I met Him. My Savior. His name is Jesus. I’ll never forget the moment when he beckoned me to become one of His own. I didn’t even realize up until that point that I needed a Savior, but I desperately did. It was all of a sudden and I instantly knew that no matter what good I did… it would never save me from all the sin I had. I was desperate and he rescued me. Not only that, but he completely wiped away every sin in my life because he had the power to do that. Because He died for my sins so that I could be saved. I didn’t deserve it. It took way more than the “jaws of life” to pay for my sins, but He did it willingly.
Did you know that he did that for you too?
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
That is the best news of all!
(((If you have any questions at all let me know. I respect people from all different beliefs and backgrounds. I tell my stories because they are what God is teaching/ showing me at the moment and I hope it blesses others as well. Thanks! )))
