Hi Bubbly Readers! I’m thrilled to be here today!
Rachel is one of the sweetest bloggers I know and has so many creative ideas.
I’m Tammy from She Wears Flowers where I blog in the hopes that I can inspire others the same way I am inspired when I read craft blogs. I love to sew, wield the glue gun and spread on the Mod Podge. I am pretty willing to go with whatever crafty idea pops into my head. Most of my projects have tutorials and I tend to stick with quick, easy and very satisfying projects. I hope you’ll stop by and see what I’m up to!
Today I will share a project that was inspired by one I saw in the Better Homes & Gardens newsletter quite a while ago. I love the idea, but I was not willing to pay $4-$5 per finial to make place card holders. Instead, I bought a few supplies from Hobby Lobby and came up with my own darling little place card holders which I am loving!
wooden candlestick holders
wood finials or dowel caps
place cards (or cardstock to make your own)
You may need to (or choose to) cut off part of the candlestick holder or the finials for a different look. You can use the hand saw to carefully cut off the parts you do not want. I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t too patient and I am seriously lucky I have my fingers and eyeballs intact! My husband said he would just cut for me (he knows I am not patient or precise!) but he was busy when I wanted them so I just used the miter saw to do it in a jiffy. Let’s just say I highly recommend another method.
At any rate…this is what I ended up with for my wood.
Use wood glue to attach finials or dowel caps to top of candlestick holders.
Spray paint each place card holder.
Add your place cards…
and you are ready!
Now your summer soirees will feel a little more dressed up and it was so simple to do!
Thanks Rachel for swapping blogs today!
